For various reasons that don't need to be explored at this juncture, I decided to have my own little action movie fest this weekend.

I saw Star Trek: Into Darkness tonight with Melissa, Jean, and a friend of Jean's. And it was just as much fun as the first time around, though with a smaller audience. After a crazy week at work, I decided to go tonight to see Fast & Furious 6 and I'm really glad I did. It was an awesome movie and an awesome audience. I went up to King of Prussia yesterday and met up with Sydni, Creatch, and Deb to see Star Trek: Into Darkness at the IMAX. It was the 3D version and one of the few times when it was done really well - partly for the depth perspective on the screen as for the few times they decided to "pop" something out at the audience. I watched Django Unchained tonight.  I wasn't sure if I was going to like it going in, giving that we're talking about Tarantino and slavery, but I think it was very well done and I really liked it.  I highly recommend it.

I saw GI Joe: Retaliation today. It was appropriately cheesy and fun to watch. And the eyecandy was fun to look at. Also, Ray Park is awesome.

I only worked a half-day today, but not because of the snow-that-didn't-happen-here, but because I'm covering for a coworker on Saturday, so she took the equal hours today.

This afternoon, I saw Jack the Giant Slayer. Yes, parts of it were cheesy (though not as cheesy as Hansel and Gretel), but it was a good movie and I quite enjoyed it. And ( Read more... )

I saw Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters today and it was as amusing and over-the-top as I'd expected. AKA, I had a great time watching it. And I loved the little twist of Hansel's...problem.

Plus, Jeremy Renner - rowr.

If you enjoyed Van Helsing, I think you'll enjoy this movie.

Just finished watching Men in Black 3, which was lots of fun.

And Josh Brolin does a very good job of playing a younger Tommy Lee Jones.
